is important not because of who wrote it, but what it represents; the idea that we have a past and there were those who came before us.  There is much to be learned from history as many great ideas are formed in the past and still inform upon us in the present.  We must attempt to remember the struggle of those who came before as we continue to strive to make the world better for everyone now and in the future.  The embodiment of History is represented here by Leonardo da Vinci as his philosophical practice brought forth a bridge of artistic and scientific thinking while also invoking a playful pleasure as his ideas and inventions brought forth an imaginative perspective of how the world functions.  In short he embodies his own Vitruvian Man, the ideally proportioned and balanced figure as he himself balanced an ideology the arts, sciences, and inquiry.
